Proverbial Meaning: Empty space is unnatural, or empty space (perhaps in one's life) will soon be filled.
Literal Origins: Nature will always try to fill up an empty space. Every part of the Earth, no matter how remote, will usually have some form of natural life living there. A vacuum has no air, therefore nothing can live there.
Common Usage: This proverb is not very well known, but may be used occasionally by someone observing a living creature or plant surviving in a seemingly inhospitable environment. Or it may be used to express the oddity felt when seeing a place devoid of nature.
